The Only Equine Supplements That Your Horse Would Ever Need

Do a simple search on Google or Amazon for a term like "horse supplements" and in a matter of seconds you will learn that there are hundreds of thousands of articles, videos, forum posts and blogs about equine supplements and there are also hundreds of different types of horse supplements that you can buy today.

From one point you this is great, because we never had so many different products to choose from, yet from another point of view this massive choice leaves a lot of inexperienced horse riders confused, quite simply it is hard to distinguish the good stuff from the bad stuff. I've spent the last two years working in the equine supplements industry and I have learned a thing or two about equine supplements that less informed horse riders would benefit from and in this article I would like to share with you a list of, what in my opinion are, the only equine supplements that your horse would ever need.

First of all let's start from calmers. In my opinion calmers are great for those of you that are involved in competitive horse riding disciplines such as dressage, eventing, show jumping. You see, competing requires you and your horse to travel to a lot of new places, seeing hundreds of new places and being constantly on the road and this can cause a lot of stress to your horse. I can tell you that stress can have a serious impact on performance and if you want to avoid this then you should start supplementing your horse's diet with a high quality equine calmer.

In addition to horse calmers, you should also look into joint supplements. There are hundreds of different types of horse supplements in the market today. Some are less expensive, some are more expensive, some use basic active ingredients, some use more exotic active ingredients, but at the end of the day I want you to know that it is really important to supplement your horse's diet with a high quality joint supplement. Why? Because joint injuries are very common and it does not matter whether you take your horse for occasional hack or if you actively compete. You want to do whatever you possibly can to strengthen and support your horse's joints.

Finally, you want to invest into a high quality feed balancer. Feed balancers are just like multi-vitamin supplements for humans in a way that they are packed with all of the essential vitamins, minerals and nutrients that your horse needs to look and feel great.

What You Need To Know About Equine Joint Supplements

Equine Joint Supplements

The fact is that Winter causes quite a lot of trouble for horses. If you have been riding horses for some time now you have probably noticed that when the winter comes quite a lot of horses tend to lose weight and condition and in general when the weather gets colder quite a lot of horses do not look and feel great.

The primary reason why this happens is a result of poor grazing conditions. When the weather gets colder grazing conditions worsen and this means that our horses simply do not get as many different vitamins, minerals and nutrients as their bodies need.

When grazing conditions worsen and when the weather gets colder you want to do whatever you possibly can to make sure that your horse does not suffer from nutrient deficiency and this is why you should supplement your horse's diet with a high quality equine feed balancer.

Equine feed balancers are packed with all of the essential vitamins, minerals and nutrients that your horse needs to look and feel great.

Now, in the Winter, in addition to supplementing your horse's diet with a high quality feed balancer, you also want to supplement your horse's diet with a high quality equine joint supplement. Why? You see, the pounding and twisting that horses' joints are subjected to, regardless of the type of activity they are doing, can leave them vulnerable to injury and the hard ground makes things even worse. In the winter you want to do whatever you possibly can to strengthen and support your horse's joints and this is why you should supplement your horse's diet with a high quality equine joint supplement.

The Truth About Equine Supplements

In this article I would like to share with you some useful information about equine supplements. The fact is that in 2013 there are hundreds of different types of equine supplements and products that you can buy for your horse. Some are less expensive, some are more expensive, but what is clear at this point is that you can choose from thousands of different products and formulations.

Do a simple search on Google, eBay or Amazon for horse supplements and you will get thousands of results. Now, I don't know how much experience have you got when it comes to working with horses, but while observing less experienced horse riders I can tell you that people with little experience are confused by this massive choice of products.

They don't know which products are good, which ones are bad, which ones are worth the money and which ones are not. A lot of less experienced think that the more products they use, the better it is, but that is not the case.

Your horse doesn't need dozens of different types of products. Instead of focusing on the quantity of the supplements, you need to focus on the quality and this is why you should read my latest article on EzineArticles titled "Must Have Equine Supplements"

Winter Horse Care

If you have been a member of the equestrian community for some time now or even if you are planning to get a horse sometime in the nearby future you probably know already about how different times of the year affect the way our horses look and feel.

You don't need to hold a degree in Equestrian Science to know that when the weather gets warmer and grazing conditions improve, our horses end up looking and feeling better. On the other hand when the weather gets colder and grazing conditions get worse our horses tend to lose condition, develop dull coat and get stiffness in their joints.

The primary reason why most of the horses do not look and feel great in the winter is because they do not get as many different vitamins and minerals as their bodies need. As a result of this nutrient deficiency quite a lot of horses develop the problems that we have previously mentioned.

So what options are available to you? How can you help your horse.

You need to start supplementing your horse's diet with high quality equine supplements like feed balancers and joint supplements. For more information about these products and for more information about horse care in the winter read about Looking After Your Horse in The Winter
