What equine supplements to buy in summer?

Over the past week or so I have received quite a lot of questions from my readers about horse supplements. Specifically people wanted to know about what equine supplements they should buy for their horses in summer.

The fact is that in June, July and August the weather tends to get better which in effect leads to improved grazing conditions. As a result of good grazing conditions horses tend to spend quite a lot of time outside.

From one point of view this is great, but from another point of view by spending quite a lot of time outside our horses attract attention of aggressive insects such as flies, mosquitoes and ticks. The fact is that when the weather gets better flies, ticks, mosquitoes and other annoying insects become very active and their bites can cause lumps and bumps appear all over horse's body.

In order to prevent this you should invest in a high quality garlic supplements. Garlic supplements have been around for decades and while they have some great anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, they are primarily used as fly repellents.

You see, once you will start supplementing your horse's diet with a high quality garlic supplements, your horse's body will start producing an odor which will act as a natural fly repellent and it will keep flies, mosquitoes, ticks and other annoying insects at bay.
