What Equine Supplements Does Your Horse Really Needs

I have spent the last 15 months working in the equine supplements industry and in today's article I would like to share with you some really interesting information about equine supplements. More specifically I would like to take you behind the scenes and share with you a list of supplements that your horse really needs.

Now, in this article I want to focus on the products that are really useful. You see, there are lots of supplements and products available that aren't really necessary. They are packed with exotic active ingredients, have cool names and amazing packaging, but at the end of the day they do very little to help your horse.

On the other hand there are several equine supplements that are proven and tested by time and that really work and in this article I would like to talk with you about some of them.

First of all, the single most important supplement that you can buy for your horse today is a good, high quality feed balancer. I know that this does not sound sexy or ground breaking and I know that this probably isn't the suggestion that you were looking for, but the fact is feed balancers have been around for decades and they have helped millions of horses worldwide to look and feel better.

There are dozens of feed balancer for you to choose from. These are feed balancers for performance horses, veteran horses, laminitic horses, overweight horses and etc. At this first glance this massive choice of different types of formulations might cause confusion, but if you are not involved in competitive horse riding disciplines and if your horse's workload is relatively low then you want to stick to the most basic feed balancer.

In addition to feed balancers you should also look into joint supplements. Why? Quite simply because joint problems are very common among horses and one of the easiest ways to minimise the risk of joint disease is to supplement your horse's diet with a high quality joint supplement.
